This relatively new sport will bring a smile to your face and a wag to your dog’s tail!
It is great fun and originally in 1990 when it started as a sport, it was just what the title says: Obedience with Music. Since then it has developed and branched out and there is now a discipline called Freestyle, which means the dog can just about do anything that goes with a piece of music and really enjoy it. You can be very imaginative and teach your dog various moves and then select a piece of music and away you go! You can even get dressed up in accordance with the theme of your music! Any breed can take part. One of the most successful partnerships in competition is that between a Rottweiler and her handler. Again you can do it just for fun or work up to a competitive level. The first competition was held at Coventry in 1996 and like agility this sport has spread rapidly all over the world.
